As we approach the exciting launch of our website, we wanted to give you an update on the progress we've made over the past week. Our team has been working tirelessly to ensure that our platform is not only informative but also visually appealing and user-friendly. Here's a brief rundown of the tasks we've completed:
We've introduced a 'latest magazine article' section right on the homepage, ensuring that you won't miss any new articles when they get published. Additionally, we've created a dedicated page that lists all of our magazine articles, making it easier for you to browse. We've only just begun, but can imagine this will be a pretty busy section in the future.
We understand the importance of having great visuals. That's why we spend plenty of time finding the right images that fit our brand-guide and have the right look and feel for SproutCloud. There is also a more technical aspect to make the images get delivered just right. This week we've updated our images to be responsive to your screen size and automatically crop them to the most ideal size for fast loading times. This includes high pixel density versions, ensuring they look extra crisp on high-resolution screens like iPhones and MacBooks.
Our Plant Knowledge base pages have received some love! We've added a few extra 'about' sections such as 'about propagation', 'about pruning', and 'about temperature'.
While we previously had the option to include quotes and images in our articles, we've taken it up a notch. The new design ensures that these elements stand out more, breaking away from the traditional column format for added emphasis.
A big shoutout to Elise who meticulously updated the existing pages with accurate and relevant information for each plant, while also adding more images and some quotes to the articles to take all of the content to a whole new level ❤️
Sharing is caring, and now when you share links to our website, they will display with a nice summary image! This addition provides more clarity on where the link will lead. We will probably improve the design a bit in the future, to include any featured images, but for now we are pretty excited about this. They are even automatically generated by our system, once the content has been provided.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes, a caption can add just the right context. Thanks to Elise, who not only identified where captions were needed but also played a pivotal role in their design and placement. Most of our article images now come with informative captions to enhance your reading experience. They will also be added as so called "alt tags" for accessibility purposes.
A website, much like a garden, is never truly complete. There's always something new to plant, a design to tweak, or a bug to fix. Our to-do list at SproutCloud will most likely never be finished, but that's the beauty of it. We are having an absolute blast building and improving this platform for all of us. Embracing the challenge of continuous growth and improvement is at the heart of what we do, and we're thrilled to have you on this journey with us.
